"Keeping America's History Alive".
While I have been portraying Major General Nathanael Greene (Commander of the Southern Colonial Army during the American Revolution. ) over the last few years I have most recently added General George Washington to my Historical Story Telling Programs.
As a "Living Historian" I bring a personal touch to history relating stories of both Generals struggles before and during the War for Independence. I have visiting their homes, historic locations and performed extensive research on many details of both General George Washington & also General Greenes life both before, during and after the War for Independence.

Dan McMichael of Revolutionary Days if truly a remarkable performer, storyteller and historian! His program as the great Revolutionary War General and Patriot Gen. Nathanael Greene this past October was extraordinary. With the support of only a few small props, his strong and convincing performance easily transported the audience right back to the American Revolution and the struggles of Gen. Greene and his contemporaries . The program was entertaining and informative and kept the attention of the audience of all ages. We were beyond satisfied and look forward to working with Revolutionary Days again .
Well researched, engaging, educational and entertaining , I highly recommend this program.

Dan McMichael truly knows his stuff! He was booked for an Adult Summer Reading Program at the Mt. Zion Public Library (Carroll County) and was given exceptional reviews! We will have him back in the near future for a children's program~

Mt Zion is a wonderful community. The people I met there were very friendly and most attentive. Several of the Ladies had several questions & interest in looking at and learning about the firelocks and other accutrements .
A wonderful facility and venue for the community.
I look forward to my next visit there to speak to the Children.

Patrons & Staff at Dothan Houston Library were excellent. Staff was most accomdating and very welcoming. Patrons were very Patrotic and attentive. The question and answering sessions at the end of the program was one of the best I have had recently. A very well informed group and very inquistive. I very much applaud Dothan Houston County Library System for hosting this event for the community.

November 30, 2016Awesome Historical Experience
Through a random on-line search, I found GigSalad, which turned out to be a great! The historical character of Major General Nathaniel Greene was incredible. Not only did he provide period relevant information to the group of students, but also he brought relevant colonial artifacts for the students to view. He was very informative and entertaining. While he was very professional and remained in character, he developed a great connection to the students. They were completely involved in the program. Communication initially through the site and then later with Dan McMichael himself was very easy. I appreciate the information and the communication so that all details were handled. I would definitely use this site and especially Mr. McMichael again.

It was a pleasure visiting with Southland Academy and working with Ms Kinslow. The staff was very helpful in arranging times to speak to several classes of Juniors & Seniors prior to arriving to meet the 5th graders. The young gentlemen of the 5th grade were very informed on the proper etiquette to greet visitors, and the young ladies were very gracious. After my program they performed a Colonial Dance which I thoroughly enjoyed watching.

About
While growing up in the 50’s & 60’s my first discovery of history was influenced by several factors. While learning of US History & State History in school it never came to life until I saw it in action.
Television took me each week back in time by watching the Wonderful World of Disney transporting me on one adventure after the next with Daniel Boone, The Swamp Fox , Davy Crockett & Zoro. Then in the early 60‘s visiting Williamsburg & Jamestown VA. These Living Historic Sites was where history came alive for me with the sights , smells and sounds of history.
After growing into manhood and starting a family, I was exposed again to living history by working for Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites as a Park Ranger and then as Park Superintendent.
After discovering 45 years ago how much enjoyment one can pass along to others by bringing history alive this knowledge has kept my interest and energy going thru the years in performing these programs. While I have portrayed Pre & Post American Revolutionary periods for over 20+ years ,over the last 10 years I have concentrated on the American Revolution period with emphasis over last many years by portraying Major General Nathanael Greene. I have most recently added his Excellency General George Washington.
Starting in 2019 I have added 1 additional Patriots to my program at this time. General George Washington will bring this stories to audiences as General Greene has over the last several years.
Coming in the future will be Daniel Boone.
I enjoy talking with not only Patrotic Organizations but also Civic & Church Groups along with Private & Public school groups.
Bringing to Life the Personnel Stories of the Life & Times of two of American's most Capable & Famous Generals of the American Revolution.

With over 20 years of living history programs I provide a one man performance. I perform with minimum props or if needed or requested can bring a variety of period furnishings along with firelocks & accouterments which can help your audience better understand and visualize the stories of our American Revolutionary Days.
