Randy Reszka Jazz Guitarist
Overview
Rare are the times when you go out for a cocktail and dinner and there is live quality music in the back ground. I have learned that people go out for a fine dining experience and are often times caught sitting at a table with undesirable music being forced at them.
What they really wanted was a peaceful relaxing dinner where they can talk to one another but still feel that they had a special experience with a bit of elegance and charm.
I provide that type of atmosphere. As there are fewer and fewer solo jazz guitarists it is rare and unique to here melodies and jazz interludes from a solo performance. No rhythm tracks, drum machines, Just solo jazz guitar... playing memorable tunes.

October 20, 2014Excellent musician, very professional
Randy played jazz guitar for a couple hours at my 60-person outdoor evening reception in Empire MI last summer. His sound was very suitable for a classy summer evening soiree, and his equipment projected the sound well. He showed up early for the event and even played a little longer than agreed. I'd highly recommend him for your event if you want to hear some great jazz classics played on an electric jazz guitar.

What to expect
My performance is solo jazz guitar much like the masters. I have been told my playing can sound like... Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Cal Collins, Kenny Burrell. Although I am humbled by the compliments, I guess it is the best way to discribe my playing. I am best suited for dinner cocktail hours or any gathering where ther is a need for a relaxing jazz sound.
About
Solo Jazz guitarist
Fine dining, Quiet lounges, Bars, Outdoor settings, Patios, Decks, Private events, Social gatherings. I look forward to them all...
I have been playing jazz guitar for over thirty years, and I'm sure I have never played any tune the same way twice. That's how it works !!!
I studied jazz in the 1980 at Western Michigan University. While attending WMU I was taking private jazz guitar instruction from renowned jazz guitarist John Riemer, scales, arpeggios, tonal centers, tension and release, that kind of stuff. It's great to know if you want to be serious about it, I did and I still do. It is always the funnest challange, and is most exciting to here what your next improvised line might sound like. Did you hit the mark that you wanted? If not, try again the next time around.
I was a member of a jazz orchestra at WMU and have also played with small combo and duo arrangements at many venues throughout the years. living and working in Northern Michigan is a dream.
I have had the pleasure of perfoming with great jazz musicans such as; John Riemer, Gene Butler, Jerry Camron, Tom Bourcier, Hank Hedges, Bill Harre, Lori Sears and many others......
Additional booking notes
I take up very little space with my own equipment and provide rich jazz guitar solos.
I also provide a more up beat combination of a trio/quartet sound without adding any extra expense.

Testimonials
Randy Reszka gave us exactly what we needed for our Trout Unlimited banquet. His relaxed musical style enhanced the atmosphere for this event one thousand per cent. In retrospect, I can say that our cocktail and dining pleasure would have been far less without him. Working with Randy was an absolute pleasure. If anyone has had to coordinate a major fundraiser, they’ll appreciate talent who can not only perform beautifully but also can be on time, unobtrusive and well organized.

We were thrilled to have Mr. Reszka as our entertainer during the weekly Brunch Sessions at our Resort. His musical talent has given a beautiful accent to the normally ordinary breakfast experience. We can highly recommend him to any customer or organization seeking a jazz performer.

Randy is a great musician and a pleasure to work with. He did a great job for us and everyone thought he was great. I give him my highest recommendation. Thanks. -- 12/9/2006

Randy was great! He put my party over the top. All the quests enjoyed his playing and many of us plan on trying to catch Randy when he plays in the northern Michigan area. He was very accommodating, when our dinner ran later than expected he continued to play his perfect light jazz. I very rarely give the highest rating across the board however, in this case I am because he deserves it. -- 7/21/2007
