The Reptile Man, Richard Ritchey, has won the attention of audiences in OR and WA for the past 28 years. Presenting 400+ programs yearly featuring exotic reptiles!
* A 60 minute program of 15 reptiles! Learn about each and see them up close! Volunteers encouraged! Geared for ages 5 to adult. Great for birthdays!
* A reptile display, but a hands-on one! Works well for school science fairs, school family nights, and VBS! Several friendly reptiles out on tables to hold, ask questions, take selfies!
Fee: $290 and up.
NOTE: WA state now requires us to charge sales tax for presentations in WA (state + local tax.)

March 2, 2026We had the Reptile Man for my son’s birthday, and it was the highlight of the year! He brought a fantastic variety of reptiles, and his passion for educating kids was obvious. He was so patient with the rambunctious group and made sure everyone got a turn to touch or hold them. It was a highly educational, thrilling show that kept all the kids—and adults—captivated. November 30, 2025We hired the Reptile Man for my son’s 8th birthday! We enjoyed every bit of the show, from ages 1 to 80. It was engaging and interactive and fun! The kids are all still talking about the experience and how he brought these 14 creatures into our home. My son had his dreams come true, by holding a crocodile! It was such an amazing experience and feeling to watch as a mother! I highly recommend hiring the reptile man!

Thank you or asking Rich! The one-hour reptile program is geared to ages 5 to adult! (A few younger kids in the mix is ok. ) Rich presents 15 live reptiles one at a time, and teaches about each! He asks for volunteers during the show to hold the friendly animals. Feel free to take a lot of photos! Kids and adults will have a chance to see large lizards, large boas and pythons, a snapping turtle, large tortoise, a de-venomized rattlesnake, cobra and viper, and several other reptiles (snakes.) Any snake that is venomous in the wild has been surgically de-venomized for safety! Only Rich holds those. 60 minutes of exciting, educational fun!
Richard Ritchey is a life-long herpetologist, specializing in reptiles (rather than amphibians.) Venomous reptiles are a special interest of his! Any "venomous" reptiles presented in his programs have been surgically de-venomized for safety! Only Rich will hold these special animals. (Clients will get a chance to touch other friendly reptiles!)
Oregon Reptile Man was established in 1993 and still going strong in the Pacific NW!
Rich performs at library programs, day cares, senior centers, fairs, festivals, grand openings, and many birthday parties! Averaging about 350 programs a year! Exciting, professional, and humorous! Booking a few months ahead is always good, but we welcome last minute bookings, too!
Rich will give his live reptile presentation in any indoor venue. Reptiles are cold-blooded, and cannot regulate their own body heat in captivity. We have to do it for them! Indoors is a must so that they will not overheat in the summer, or get too cold in the winter!
As Rich invites audience participation and gives brief info on each animal, please schedule the reptile program when the band is NOT playing!
