Flute Alone adds just the right touch to weddings, funerals, private and corporate receptions, art openings and other special events.
For some settings, bringing in a grand piano or hiring a string quartet just isn't practical, due to space or budget limitations. Flute Alone adds a bit of elegance to your event without the complications of sound systems, special lighting or seating requirements. Performing best indoors as a standing musician, my set-up is minimal.
Musical repertoire for Flute Alone is primarily classical with an occasional folk, popular or tango selection added for variety.
Flutist Rebecca Cochran has enjoyed a multi-faceted career as a chamber and orchestral musician, educator and arts marketing professional. She has performed extensively throughout the U.S. including appearances in Boston, Chicago, Honolulu, Vermont, North Carolina, Florida and Washington, D.C.
A native of Florida, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of South Florida under the tutelage of Martha Rearick. Later, she studied with French flutist, pianist and composer, Louis Moyse and, for many years, managed his masterclasses throughout the U.S. and France. She was a key organizer of the Louis Moyse Centennial Concert in Saint-Amour, France in 2012, performing in a commemorative concert of his original compositions.
Flute Alone adds a bit of elegance to your event without the complications of sound systems, special lighting or seating requirements. Performing best indoors as a standing musician, my set-up is minimal. All I require is an area free of obstructions and foot traffic, with enough room for myself, my flute and my music stand.
