Hi, I’m cellist Quinn.
I’m a classical trained musician. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance at The Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China and Master’s Degree from University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).
I’m happy to share my music with you! I also have a string trio the Orchid Trio. We play concerts, weddings, events, wineries, galleries and more!

June 28, 2026We booked Quinn Liu and her violinist through GigSalad for our wedding, and they were absolutely wonderful. From our first message to the final note, they were professional, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with.
They worked seamlessly with our schedule and even learned songs we selected ourselves, which made the music feel personal and special. Despite our venue’s tricky parking situation, they arrived right on time and set up without a hitch. Their playing was beautiful: warm, expressive, and perfectly timed to every moment, from the processional to the final moments. People all over the venue were peeking in just to listen and enjoy the music, and guests kept coming up afterward to tell us what a classy event it was.
Quinn and her violinist set a tone of elegance and emotion we’ll never forget. Booking was seamless, and the whole experience exceeded every expectation. Born in Xinjiang, China, Quinn Kun Liu began her cello studies at age of seven and won her first cello competition at ten. Quinn received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance at The Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China and Master’s Degree from University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she received a full scholarship.
As an orchestra musician, Quinn has served as cellist in a variety of orchestras such as the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Portland Columbia symphony, The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Inland Valley Symphony. Previously, she also played in Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra in China. As an passionate and active chamber musician, Quinn is founding member of The Orchid Trio and the Cello Jam. And she has been invited and performed in several music festivals in the United States and Asia.
In addition to music performance, Quinn is very experienced in teaching cello as well as working in musical administration.
In 2013, she was nominated to coach the cello section in Kurt Sassmannshaus’ Starling Foundation in Cincinnati. Quinn was a cello instructor at the Opus school of Music, Oregon Music Academy, Musicality Network, Music Academy of San Diego, Old Town Academy, Help You Achieve Academy. In the area of administration, Quinn was the executive assistant of the Great Wall International Music Academy, the administrative assistant in the Virtuoso Music Academy, and the executive assistant at the Bravo! International Music Academy.
Quinn has called Portland home since 2017, joining the Portland Columbia symphony on 2019 and Metropolitan Youth Symphony in 2021. Beyond performing and conducting, Quinn works at Portland Opera as Music assistant, teaches at PCC Rock Creek and manages her home studio, Musication LLC, in Bethany.
Aside from music, Quinn has a great interest in fashion, travel, fine food.
