PrepXPerformance has teamed up with Chopped winner Chef D Brandon Walker to deliver high-quality, chef-crafted catering for any occasion, from weddings and corporate events to film sets, school functions, and private parties. We offer full-service breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, available as prepackaged meals or buffet-style setups. Our team can also provide craft services (snacks and refreshments) and full beverage service. Vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options are available upon request.

About Chef D
Chef D Brandon Walker is a native Angeleno who has worked in the culinary industry for the past 23 years. His early career featured stops at some of Los Angeles’ top fine dining restaurants, including Bastide and The Wilshire. He then spent a decade at the helm of multiple culinary programs at the St. Joseph Center in Venice. Chef D was named Chopped champion on The Food Network in 2014. After winning Chopped, D Brandon moved back into the private sector as the creator and owner of the popular Mar Vista and MV Grab & Go restaurants. D Brandon is currently the private executive chef for a billionaire LA family and has a new fast casual restaurant, The VB Grab & Go, which opened in Venice Beach in June of 2025.

A Partnership Built on Passion, Skill, and Shared Experiences
Our founder, Mathew Proulx, was a student of Chef D at the St. Joseph culinary training program in 2017. Mat began working for Chef D at his restaurant, the Mar Vista, starting as a dishwasher. Over the years, Mat worked his way up from dishwasher to salad bar, raw bar, and eventually to lead line cook, all under Chef D’s guidance. Mat eventually left the Mar Vista and started PrepXPerformance in 2021. Now, 8 years after their paths first crossed, and Mat and Chef D have teamed up to combine their culinary skills and bring high-quality catering to your events!
