My name is Shane Steddum, but you know me as Professor Gallico. My interest in magic started when my late great uncle showed me my first magic trick at 5 years old which led to entering a talent show a few years later with a failed card card trick and a ventriloquist act so bad that the dummy tried to sue my parents for damage to his character. This initial hurdle didn't stop me, mostly because I had nothing better to do.
My love for all things magic, circus and sideshows grew exponentially, praise P. T. Barnum. In high school I began getting regular paid gigs for birthday parties and events which led to my first television appearance on a local kid's show. Along with my performances, I became what's known in the industry as a "hauntmaster" when I started designing profitable haunted houses for every October and utilizing my budding special FX skills.
Through the years my magic and sideshow performances have evolved and manifested in many characters: A clown named Bosco, a Medieval sorcerer on the Texas Ren Fest circuit, and even as Arkansas' first and only late night horror host, Jebediah Buzzard.
I've since directed a few horror films, acted in a couple, wrote and recorded two CD's, and had a radio show but I always come back to my true passion. That passion is lies in mystifying a crowd of people, watching watching their eyes pop in disbelief, and knowing that I've provided amazement and laughter that will be remembered for years to come in a world that's sometimes frightening and often mundane.
