Several decades of experience on stage, on the road and in the studio. All styles including rock, jazz, blues, funk, rockabilly, country, Latin, you name it. Reliable. I do my homework and show up prepared. Good hang. I also do backing vocals. Looking to join a working band. Willing to drive for a quality gig. Idaho, SLC, WY, Bozeman, Boise, Denver -- wherever.

Pete Closson has been a percussionist since 1975, and one way to describe him is versatile.
Pete has performed throughout the United States and internationally with a wide variety of groups playing jazz, rock, blues, Latin, funk, country, reggae, polka -- you name it. He has been part of several studio albums and other recordings as a performer and arranger.
But Pete has “legit” chops, too. His classical percussion experience includes extensive work in numerous symphony orchestras, concert bands, chamber ensembles and pit orchestras in addition to performing as a featured soloist.
Pete received his music degree from Eastern Michigan University where he also did his
graduate work in percussion performance. While at EMU, Pete was section leader/principal percussionist in every instrumental large ensemble including the marching band drumline.
Although he was a percussion major in college, Pete minored in trumpet. He occasionally performs on trumpet, and has recorded trumpet parts for some of the same albums on which he also played drums.
Pete uses Yamaha Recording Custom drums, Zildjian cymbals and Vic Firth drumsticks.
