Priscilla Howe, Storyteller

Priscilla tells several stories in each session. Audience members should expect to laugh, smile and enjoy the show. With younger audiences, Priscilla includes plenty of audience participation. Older kids and adults appreciate her engaging stories as well.

Priscilla Howe has a gift for sizing up audiences and delivering a whopping good time. A former librarian, she has been a full-time storyteller since 1993. She’s not easy to pigeonhole—Priscilla is as comfortable with preschoolers and grade school kids as she is with elders in retirement communities. Middle school and high school students enjoy Priscilla's scary stories, not for the faint-at-heart. In general, she tells a mix of stories from books, folktales and her own stories, most with a generous dollop of humor.

Priscilla also offers keynote speeches, after-dinner talks and special events for adults (without puppets!). She has 25 years of experience teaching storytelling and simple puppetry, as well as conducting personal story workshops.

Priscilla lives in Lawrence, KS and travels the region, the country and the world telling stories.

For indoor performances (up to 250 listeners), Priscilla brings her own sound system. For outdoor performances, she requests a sound system with a microphone on a stand or a headset/lavaliere. She also requests one chair.
