I began playing piano at 6yrs old. Guitar at 16. I have played for over 50 years. I was an original artist in the group Cowboy on Capricorn Records. We were brought to Capricorn by Duane Allman whom several of us knew. Consequently we opened for the original Allman Brothers for almost 3 years, playing Fillmore East twice in 1971. My name back then was Pete Kowalke (original name). Since then I have changed it to Peter Giri.
I continued playing after that experience,,,playing out of Topanga California, Florida,,,and more recently, Oregon. For about 18 years I played around the Eugene Oregon area at clubs, breweries, wineries, and concerts as a solo artist, in duos, and in bands. I am on Youtube as the peter giri band. Also on soundcloud as Peter Giri.
When I perform solo I loop (instant record) and then walk about wirelessly playing solos over my loop to people in the crowd. I do a wide variety of songs including classic rock, folk, folk rock, blues, some country, and originals.
