The ladies of Petals String Duo are so talented! Everyone enjoyed the wide variety they played, everything from classical to pop to rock, each song as good as the one before, and some really interesting arrangements! Would love to have them back!

Petals String Duo was a nothing but a joy to work with! They were responsive to emails, rolled with the timeline and the weather. My March couple exited their chapel and were planning on going right into their first dance. It was starting to drizzle and we didn't want to get the instruments wet so the stayed right in the doorway of the chapel and played on for the couple as they danced in a sea of umbrellas and smiles. It was so great to be able to focus my attention of the bride and groom as they expertly rolled with the change. Not only that but their playing was lovely!

I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for the wonderful music Petals Strings Duo provided for our wedding ceremony!! We have received so many compliments on how wonderful their music was, including a note I received from a family member saying that their music and playlist during the ceremony were her favorite part! It was just the perfect compliment to our pre-ceremony cocktail hr. and ceremony time, and the songs they were able to play were so fun and unique. I am so happy that we chose this group among so many options in the Raleigh - Durham area. This duo has such a cool approach to common strings arrangements, and were also so wonderful to work with in terms of their responsiveness, planning assistance with logistics and song selection, flexibility, and willingness to play in unique settings to accommodate our wedding plans.

What to expect
When hired for live or recorded session work, we are able to play whatever sheet music is provided, or come up with parts on the spot. We are quite good at improvising, and have a background in songwriting and composition as well.
We are energetic and passionate players and people in general. We like to have fun on stage and feel that certainly comes across in our playing!
About
Petals String Duo are a classically-trained duo who first connected in 2011 as bandmates in local folk band Saints Apollo. Over the past 5 years, the duo have honed their skills through playing and writing together consistently, and their playing has consequently become natural and seamless. Both are members of local alt-bluegrass band New Reveille and additionally perform live and recorded session work with bands and artists in the area. Petals String Duo play many styles of music ranging from pop to country to classical to jazz, combining academic technique with improvisational flair. They are available to perform for weddings, events, and live and recorded session work.
Additional booking notes
We can play completely acoustically or plugged in. We are able to supply an amplification system for a small fee! We can play in any type of venue with any type of setup!
