Overview
Two angles to my act:
1- I'm looking to do light live background Christmas & Celtic/traditional tunes on Irish bouzouki for small/medium sized parties/events. This would be no to light amplification, all instrumental. I'm not even looking to make any significant money doing this, it's to get out there and deliver and have fun.
2- "Plugged" hot acoustic bluesey/bluegrass/trad country type tunes with vocals or instrumental on guitar and bouzouki.

What to expect
Please note! I am a "genre" act specializing in blues/country-blues/bluegrass/folk styles! I am NOT your typical wedding event/MOR/pop sort of player. See details below please!
a) Irish bouzouki instrumentation (only): see videos with Christmas/traditional song lineups. My idea for this sort of performing is to be light background and "seasonal presence" music, Christmas-style, with some Celtic type crossover tunes in the mix. Light to no amplification, depending on the situation (room size, crowd size, volume limits, etc). Personally if I hired someone to create this sort of effect for a party/event the music would "there" but easily able to be talked over. "Light piano bar" only on bouzouki/acoustic guitar.
b) "Plugged acoustic" instrumentation (electrified acoustic & bouzouki): see Live Song Slices videos as an example of that style of playing I do, as well as the original and cover song samples in Audio. I do some non-Christmas type traditional/folk tunes on Irish bouzouki also, and a set of bluesey/folky/bluegrass/country type songs on guitar (I also play a lot of loud electric guitar, see other audio samples, but that's not for this kind of act :).
If anyone would care to try it for the occasion I could mix (a) and (b) above.
About
Greetings. I am a lifelong musician, been playing for over 50 years, mainly guitar but also bass guitar, drums, and as per videos I am proficient on Irish bouzouki and mandolin. I have played in bands off and on over the years either in lead guitar or drums & bass, occasionally, but I've taken up light solo performing since around 2018, instrumental or with vocals.
Additional booking notes
Only technical requirements are:
- good protected electrical source (typical 110v)
Amplification (if desired):
- For option (a) in "What to expect" - no PA needed, I provide amplification
- For option (b) in "What to expect" - small PA, I can provide this but if you have a decent one there already I can use that, and microphone (I provide). I provide amplification
Lighting:
- if small setting outdoors, some minimal ambient lighting (white is fine). I can provide stage "par-can" lights if it's a sizeable area and/or with a stage.

Set list
At the moment I do not have a super extensive set list as yet, but enough to fill up a couple hours, with breaks and "repeats" which is not an invalid thing to do in a light/background instrumental sort of requirement (as in "A"). Adding additional (B) tunes if it's a mix, then could fill up a couple hours easy.

Influences and inspiration
I have many different influences, depending on the sort of music I'm playing, but for this acoustic plugged/unplugged style:
- John Renbourn/Bert Jansch/Pentangle
- Leo Kottke
- Rory Gallagher
- Rolling Stones
- Robin Bullock
- many different original blues players (John Lee Hooker, Fred Mcdowell, Willie McTell, etc)
Setup requirements
See "Technical" for amplification/lighting/electrical.
If outdoors in heavy sun, a canopy of some sort (it's a given that there won't be any playing outdoors in cold/wet weather)
