Overview
Paul Manning is a college graduate from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). After his graduation in 2007 he started teaching in the the Baltimore city public school system, as well as with various local non-profits. In 2010 I was hired by a caricature and face-painting company called 'Goofy Faces'; who had a contract with the National Aquarium. Since that time I have worked for several special event companies including; Baltimore's Best LLC and Bubbles Prod. LLC. I am a face-painter, caricaturist and balloon twister. P2Z did not disappoint! We asked for 9 super hero caricatures on a tight timeline, and not only did he finish them before the deadline, he was quick to respond and easy to get ahold of throughout. He sent update photos so it was nice to see the caricatures being done. He is a truly amazing artist and reliable to work with, all at a very affordable price. We hired him for our sons 10th birthday party. He was so kind and patient with all of the kids who ranged from 2-11 and they Loved their drawings. He captured each of them perfectly. What to Expect
Depending on what the client has demanded for a certain gig, I will be doing caricature drawings, face painting and/or balloon twisting. I give the client the option to construct their event as they please. Some clients have hired me for multiple hours with each hour dedicated to a separate craft. I also am willing to negotiate flat rates for types of situations. The number of caricatures that can be done in an hour is dependent on the number of subjects in a picture, whether or not the full body is pictured and also if color is used. Finally plastic sleeves for protecting the drawings can be provided upon request for an extra cost of $15.
About
I grew up in Baltimore in a very creative household. My grandmother was a teacher and my grand father was a bass player in a jazz band. Intriguing music and volumes of books were my entertainment in my household. I attended the Baltimore School of the Arts (BSA) in high school and then left Maryland shortly some time after for Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In Chapel Hill, I attended and graduated from East Chapel Hill high school. After high school I returned to Baltimore to attend MICA and eventually received a bachelors in General FIne Arts. My caricature and face-painting art exemplifies my steady hand, and line control. I have cartooning and portraiture experience from MICA which I use in my work. I recently have added balloon twisting to my arsenal. My rates are $100 hr with the option of sleeves and mixed specialty booking.
Additional Booking Notes
Tables and chairs are not provided for events. This is the client's responsibility. Also the number of people being drawn in a single picture, whether or not the picture is in color, as well as if the full bodies and a background are depicted dictate how many pictures can be done in a full hour. APPROXIMATELY: 10 single, B&W, neck and shoulder pics per hour. 6-8 single, full body/full color, pics per hour. 8 single, full body B&W pics per hour.
