Overview

My name is Paul Catala and I am a seasoned classically trained pianist with more than 30 years of experience playing background and ambient piano for a variety of events, parties, business functions, fine dining and others. I have a vast repertoire of popular songs from a variety of eras, mostly from the 1930s through today, with a few classical pieces ready to play if needed. Please get in touch for rates if you or your event can use a bed of relaxing, refreshing and familiar tunes! References available.

I play a variety of classic pop and jazz standards, original ballads and can improvise a nice bed of background music.

About

I'm a Tampa, Florida native who grew up in Temple Terrace. I began classical piano lessons at 8, studied with renowned Tampa piano teacher Jessie May Caruthers and studied through college; I received a minor in music from the University of Florida. I also play tuba and had a tuba scholarship at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida.

I have my own small PA system with speakers and a 6-channel mixer. I have a Yamaha PS-80 digital piano along with an array of analog and MIDI-ready synthesizers, if necessary.
