What to expect

If an audience came to see me, they would experience a tight, groove-driven bass performance that supports the music, elevates the band, and keeps the energy exactly where it needs to be — from laid-back and elegant to upbeat and danceable.

If a client hired me, they would get a professional, reliable bassist who is easy to work with, well-prepared, and fully focused on making the event run smoothly. I adapt quickly to different artists, bands, and styles, follow charts when needed, and always prioritize the overall sound of the group over flashy playing.

I’m experienced in pop, R&B, jazz, funk, soul, and corporate/event music, and comfortable in live performances, private events, showcases, and professional settings. Whether supporting a singer, filling in as a sub, or holding down the groove for a full band, my goal is always the same: solid time, great tone, and zero stress for the client.

Clients can expect clear communication, punctuality, professional gear, and a polished stage presence. My work as an artist and bassist is available on all major streaming platforms under Eddie Curi, and more performance material can be found at (link hidden).

About

Since moving from Brazil to Los Angeles in 2008, I’ve built a vibrant career as a bassist, collaborator, and teacher in the heart of the American music scene.

I hold a Master’s degree in Music from Shepherd University, where I studied with legendary players including Abraham Laboriel, Carlos Campos, and Daniel Walker. That foundation has fueled a versatile career filled with unforgettable collaborations—performing alongside Caleb Quaye (Elton John’s band), touring and recording with Indiana Bradley, and sharing stages with acts like One World Language.

“I love bringing music to life—whether I’m laying down grooves in the studio, rocking a live show, or helping students discover their own voice on the bass,” I always say. “Working with incredible artists and watching my students grow keeps me inspired every single day.”

What I Offer • Session bass for recording projects (all genres) • Live performances & tours • Private bass lessons (in-person in LA or online worldwide) • Arranging & musical direction

If you’re looking for a reliable, creative bassist who shows up prepared and elevates every track or performance, let’s talk! I’d love to hear about your project.

A Little More About Me Born and raised in Brazil, I bring a rich blend of South American rhythm and LA energy to everything I play. With years of experience across pop, rock, jazz, Latin, gospel, and beyond, I’m at home in the studio or on stage—and always excited to collaborate with artists who are passionate about great music.

Additional booking notes

I provide my own professional bass guitar(s), amplification, and essential gear suitable for small to medium-sized venues. I’m comfortable performing with house PA systems, backline provided by the venue, or minimal setups depending on the event.

For most performances, I require:

Standard access to a clean DI or house PA

One monitor mix (wedge or in-ear)

Basic stage space appropriate for a bass player

I’m flexible with stage layouts and have experience performing in a wide range of environments, including corporate events, private venues, clubs, and outdoor stages. Lighting and staging requirements are minimal and can be adapted to the event’s needs.

I’m comfortable reading charts or learning material in advance, and I can coordinate directly with bandleaders, music directors, or event production teams to ensure smooth setup and soundcheck.

Load-in and setup times are efficient, and I prioritize punctuality, professionalism, and clear communication to support a stress-free event experience.
