Overview

I play and sing the classically elegant "American Songbook" a la Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, inspired by Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé.

Great sound ! Awesome job

Booked Old Blue Eyes for post golf outing party. The 3 piece ( bass, drums and singing/guitarist) was perfect backdrop and great sound.
Started outside, then relocated inside ( due to weather), the guys accommodated the change gracefully and professionally ( thank you !).
Highly recommended, we will be having Old Blues Eyes back for our next event.

Great Performance

Old Blue Eyes performed at our adult day program and was a big hit! He was professional, personable, and played songs that our participants could sing-a-long too! I will be hiring him again!

What to expect

I bring my own p.a. system for my microphone and the two guitars I switch between. I usually play two or three sets of 45 minutes each with one or two 15 minute breaks.

If you're looking for entertainment for an older crowd, I'm you're guy! They often know the words by heart, but haven't heard them for years!

It's also very romantic music, and I often have couples get up from their diner tables to dance, "cheek to cheek," just like Fred Astaire did with Ginger Rogers while they sang that song!

About

I'm a semi-retired professor who's moved back to New England after 25 years in Louisiana. It was there, the home of Harry Connick Jr., that I developed my repertoire of playing and singing the classic "American Songbook," just as he did for the soundtrack of "When Harry Met Sally." They are songs written between 1930 and 1960, often for big bands, and savored by jazz players and singers. That's mostly because of their chord structures and melodies that are so fun to improvise to, but their lyrics area also special, as they usually written by professional lyricists. There is a poetic and romantic quality to the songs that will also keep people coming back to them.

I've always been a singer, and in musical theater I played the leads in West Side Story and Singin' in the Rain, back in the day. But now, I just love to croon, a la Frank, Ella, Mel Torme, or today, Michael Bublé.

I can be nice background music for elegant gatherings, or front and center for romantic dancing. I'd love to play for YOU!
