About

Unprecedented. If any one word could accurately describe the creative spirit and style of groundbreaking artist Ohemaah, that would be it. This Ghanaian-Canadian recording artist is a songwriter and classically trained musician. Ohemaah's work covers multiple genres but can most easily be summed up as indie pop. “My music is inspired by the hope and struggles that I experience daily in my own life as well as others'. It's hope that I try to impart on others. Music is powerful. I’m committed to my message and purpose – being a light in the dark,” she says.

Ohemaah’s unique style draws from her West African roots as well as island music, soft rock, piano ballads, acoustic soul, and alternative pop. Ohemaah has been a guest worship leader at churches in the U.S. and has sung for various Christian events around the world. The artist has shared the stage in concert with rap group Social Club and opened for grammy-winning artist Mali Music, Da T.R.U.T.H., KJ52, and The Ambassador to name a few. Aside from singing at local Open Mics, churches, and recording in the studio, Ohemaah's favorite pastime is obvious in her voice and in her music - worship.
