Nothing Runs Like Nadir

In a corner somewhere at your event is where you would find me. A low-maintenance musician, I bring my own gear, including an amplifier with a minimal setup and tear-down time, allowing you to slot Nadir in where you need him to add an emotive strings performance as the background to your cocktail party, dinner, or social event.
I can "sneak" out during an extended event so you can have me present when you need me. Happy to perform from "out-of-site" to on stage, sitting or standing, I work with your event to pause or support your itinerary when needed. Need a quick pause for a speaker or announcement? I can take visual queues to ensure a smooth and professional musical support to your event, so it looks like we've rehearsed it! You can count on me to make it a memorable addition to your special event.

Nadir Bellahmer plays the violin & viola to microphones and empty rooms. Born & raised in Edmonton, his formal training consisted of group lessons on the violin offered by the Edmonton Public School Board in the 1980s & 1990s. During the 2000s & 2010s, he played with the Middle Eastern & North African Ensemble as well as one of Edmonton’s only Klezmer bands. Performing as Nothing Runs Like Nadir, Nadir relies on both a violin & viola via a looper to improvise solos & drones & often combine solos over drones & loops. Having played alongside musicians from around the world, including 35 years of performances, Nadir combines & switches freely between musical traditions to produce a unique freestyle of play.

I use a violin and viola, and each has a pickup for a 1/4" jack.
I use a looper pedal that plugs into a Fishman Loudbox. I can also plug into your system directly or through my own mixer.
I just need a power outlet to plug my powerbar in, and I'm good to go.
