Northwest Swing

From the beginning, we'll start with your unique needs. We'll discuss the event, your musical needs (eg. What styles of music to play, whether to play loudly as a showcase performance or keep it more laid back for background music), the venue. We'll work to tailor the program to your needs and budget.

On the day of the performance, we typically arrive 60 minutes prior to performance time to set up. We'll do a quick warm up and sound check 30 minutes prior, and then start playing right on time.

We like to play in 45-minute sets, with. 15 minute break in between. For a 2-hour performance, we'd play for 45 minutes, take a break for 15 minutes, and then finish out with a final 60-minute set.

Our performance program is flexible, as are our rates. We do offer discounts for non-profit or benefit events, and can offer other accommodations -- just ask!

Northwest Swing, part of the Boeing Employees' Concert Band, is an all-volunteer band dedicated to the fun of jazz. We strive to bring enjoyment through music to all those around us. Our repertoire includes everything from swing classics such as Jersey Bounce, Hay Burner, and String of Pearls, to up-beat swing pieces from Charles Mingus, to standards from Miles Davis, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, and more.
