Being a choreographer of words and music, Sean Hunter uses the language of poetry to creatively express truth. He artistically, communicates in a way that imparts knowledge and understanding, provokes thought, and inspires hope. His ability to produce music compliments this gift.
As an elementary student in Harlem New York, he discovered his poetic gifting. Years of writing, performances with poetry groups and life experiences has helped him in sculpting his uniquely simple way with words. He creatively conveys a message so that listeners are able to understand, enjoy and benefit from what they hear.
Sean’s first book “Still Life” was released in 2011. This work is a collection of poems that reflect his personal experiences, convictions and lessons he has learned in life. His amazing talent has allowed him to open for Grammy Award winning Gospel artist Fred Hammond, perform for the Groove Masters jazz ensemble and various venues throughout North Carolina. He has recently released a spoken word album called “Pieces” and is currently working on releasing his second spoken word album “Sons of S.A.M” due to release in 2017.
Sean has a passion for the issues that plague society and has participated in several community projects that give back. His words were used to encourage fathers at the Winston Salem head start program, speak life to young parents at a Triad Teen pregnancy center, and give wisdom to the next generation of leaders at a Guilford County School ceremony.
It is Sean’s goal to spread the message of hope in a chaotic world looking for answers and to impart knowledge and understanding to those who are looking for a clear path. Through the gift of spoken word he hopes to bring life to all that listen.
