The Nightingales choose and develop arrangements that are interesting and fun to perform, believing if they love the music this much, so will you. Their repertoire includes both well-known favorites and forgotten gems, providing unique stylings you will not find elsewhere. What to Expect
The New York Nightingales band features 3 female singers and 2-4 live instrumentalists, depending on space and budget. Our "sets" include fun and intricate harmonies as well as vocal and instrumental solos. The music centers around the ‘30s and ‘40s when swing was at its peak, and the band features very talented, jazz musicians.
Our standard "set" length runs 45-60 minutes. For non-holiday gigs, you can request up to 1.5 hours. For holiday gigs, you can request up to 3 hours. For gigs lasting longer than 1 hour, we require a 10 minute break each hour. We do not use pre-recorded music for performances, but we can provide a playlist that fits the style and mood during any breaks, so you can keep your party going!
During the winter holiday season, we offer an a cappella set (singers only) that runs 30-60 minutes. This option includes more traditional songs and ballads.
