New Orleans Henna and Body Art

We are a select group of professional henna artists, who are all professionally employed artists in other mediums as well, including painting, dance and jewelry. Our artists have extensive experience with weddings, including understanding of the cultural traditions and differences involved in the henna party for both Indian and Middle Eastern ceremonies. We have also provided the beauty of henna for many contemporary or non traditional weddings looking to add an artistic or exotic flair to their ceremony. New Orleans Henna has worked repeatedly for Tulane, Loyola, and Xavier Universities, as well as a variety of high schools throughout the southeast. Our artists have a combined 35 years experience working with henna as an art form.

We mix our organic henna fresh for your event, to guarantee the darkest, most dramatic stains. Our henna lasts 7 to 14 days, depending on the location of the tattoo. All of our work is done free hand, no tracing, no stencils. We always offer drying, sealing and wrapping services, which may be included in your appointment for no extra charge. At your request, we are able to provide our own tables, chairs, umbrella or pop up tent for your event. We always bring our own design books and clean up supplies.

Laura Sheffield, the owner is also a certified yoga instructor, also offers therapeutic yoga and henna packages for individuals and small groups through several local yoga studios, or as an outcall service in the comfort of the location of your choice.

In addition, we offer quality face and body painting services for events and private appointments. We use hypoallergenic, professional grade cosmetic paints, including Ben Nye, Mehron, and Tag.
