MrPerformingArts is a teaching artist from Atlanta, Ga. He is an alumnus of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program and Georgia State University. As an educator, he has taught at every level from kindergarten to collegiate and does professional developments for current educators. He has been on faculty at The Waldorf School of Atlanta, Tri-Cities HS, North Springs HS, Charles Drew Charter School, and currently at The University of West Georgia. He consistently works with students from around the world as they prepare for concerts in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House; and in 2018 he was the clinician and conductor for Atlanta Public Schools’ Honor Orchestra. He is currently Director of the Southern Strings Sinfonia housed at the Southwest Arts Center.
As a performer, MrPerformingArts has served as principal for Orchestra Noir, the New Atlanta Philharmonic, and the Augusta Symphony. In addition, he has worked with artists such as 2 Chainz, Migos, Ludacris, India Arie, Robin Thicke, Jussie Smollett and Michael Stuckey. He has also performed on stage at the Soul Train Awards, UNCF Evening of Stars, the BET Hip-Hop Awards and has recorded at Patchwerk Studios, Twelve Music Group, the Artists' Factory, and 800 East.
He is currently the owner and director of MPA Productions which strives to increase the visibility of minority string players in and around public schools while continuing to find new and innovative ways to create music.
