April 22, 2024The entire hour-long performance was non-stop dancing and rhythm and fun. The kids were involved, the adults were helping keep the kids engaged, and there were smiles everywhere. Thank you for providing such a fun musical activity for our whole school.

Some might say Zak’s musical approach is akin to “acid", or “nu-jazz.” These genres originated in clubs in London during the 1980s and combine elements of funk, pop, soul, and hip hop, as well as jazz and disco.

We each studied classical music and traditional jazz. Our music selections, whether they be current pop tunes, 80-90s classics, or those low down Great American Song Book are all infused with the deep study, respect, and passion for all eras of jazz, especially the blues, swing, and bebop.
