What to Expect
Everyone needs a shot of adrenaline every so often. Rick Deutsch provides that in his exciting presentations. His vast experience in summiting one of the hardest and most popular day hikes 41 times taught him several lessons. His talk uses the acronym D.O.M.E. to illustrate his four points to success: Discover you passion; Overcome obstacles; Be Motivated and Be Enthusiastic. His life stories in each provide audiences with new perspectives.
Discovering one’s passion is critical to knowing what direction you need to go in life. A key is a written Bucket List. Most don’t write it down and take steps to accomplish their goals because they will do them “someday.” Someday never comes.
Rick’s stories of his obstacles – both in hiking Half Dome and medically, inspire people to dig deep and seek help in overcoming their obstacles. Recognizing these obstacles and taking steps to challenge them makes you realize your limitations and to continue on.
An adventurer must be motivated to train to accomplish things that are worth accomplishing. Be it rising early to work out or encouraging others when they are down. Motivation can overcome fears and lead to success.
Enthusiasm is contagious. If you pursue your goal with it, others will be willing to assist you on your journey. As you listen to Rick, you become enthralled with his enthusiasm. It will spread to you.
Hiking Half Dome and hiking through life are both hard. Let Rick help get you to the top of YOUR Mountain.

Influences & Inspiration
George Anderson. He was the first to reach the top of the backside of Half Dome. He drove spikes into the steep smooth granite to make a crude ladder. He stood on top of the 8,842 ft peak on Oct 12, 1875.
Royal Robbins. He was the first man to climb the face of Half Dome in 1957. He went where only others dreamed of going.
Motivation by Marsha Sinetar's book: "Do what you love; the money will follow," Author of “One Best Hike: Yosemite's Half Dome.” First via self-publishing and then published by Wilderness Press. Over 12,000 copies have been sold. I love helping others and encourage them to seek this goal with Education, Preparation and Motivation.
