The Mockingbirds, a Dallas-based R&B singing group, was founded by Dennis Singleton, who grew up in Los Angeles with the soulful sounds of KGFJ radio. His musical journey began at home, influenced by his father's deep love for soul music. Bringing together a diverse mix of talents, Dennis formed the group with Kevin Boyd from Dallas, Mike Shabazz from Chicago, Tyson Eatmen from Ohio, and Eric King from Dallas.
Each member brought their unique influences to the table, shaped by legendary artists like The Dramatics, The Originals, Black Ivory, The Temptations, Sam Cooke, The Moments, The Dells, Tavares, Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Sly & The Family Stone, Luther Vandross, Jerry Butler, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Stylistics, The O'Jays, Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, and many more. The group’s musical DNA is a rich tapestry of Motown magic, Soul Train vibes, and the transformative power of classic R&B and funk.
