Tanika Cherie has survived many tragedies in her life. She is a living Testimony of "Life After Death," meaning her life and how she survived, after tragically losing everything that meant anything to her.
For over 15 years, Tanika led a successful career in the Financial Industry working in Private Wealth Management and Retail Investment Sales & Services. She has always served in her community acting as a Youth Advisor, Mentor and Speaker. Tanika is a FDIC Financial Literacy Trainer and is certified to teach SMART MONEY through the Charles Schwab program for Goodwill Industries of Indianapolis. For many years, Tanika volunteered her time to educate others on financial literacy, including the 5th grade students at Challenge Academy, an Indianapolis Charter School in the inner city, as well as over 200 senior students at the Indiana Black Expo Teen Summit Event.
Since the age of 12 Tanika has performed on stage winning local talent shows and modeling in Indianapolis & Atlanta. She was the First Runner Up in the Miss Indiana Black Expo Pageant and was in the first Publication of “Who’s Who in Black Indianapolis,” a publication that seeks to celebrate the achievements of African-American men and women. The book features those who have made their mark in service to others in the Indianapolis community.
Tanika has always enjoyed performing arts and in her spare time, she landed several lead roles in stage plays with VTV Production in their dramatic stage play “Momma You’ve Let Us See Too Much,” which was performed at the Historical Paul Robeson Theatre in Detroit, Michigan as well as the Gospel Stage Play, “Not All Men are Dogs.” Her acting career moved she and her family to Denver where she was cast as the Lead, Miss Ruby in Lion’s Crest Production tour of “RAIN.” While in Denver, she appeared in several commercials, documentaries and short-films. Life was good, until tragedy hit. She and her children’s lives were forever changed when her husband of 13 1/2 years died of a sudden heart attack in her arms, at the age of 47, leaving her a widow. In prior years, she had already buried a child, both of her parents and a brother, now this?
With passion, inspiration and a powerful message on HOW to live moment by moment and how to maximize what you have where you are at, Tanika uses her platform to share a wonderful story of hope, faith and transformation.

Influences & Inspiration
Having worked in the Financial Industry for 15 years, I am a Certified Financial Literacy Trainer and was a Registered FINRA Representative with JP Morgan Private Wealth Management. I have spoken at community events, youth forums and inner city children and families. I am a survivor of domestic violence, endometriosis and have survived through the loss of a child and husband. From the help of God and my faith, I was able to rebuild my life, learn work life balance, and how to reinvent myself, as I returned to the workplace as a single mother. I speak not only from my education but life experience. I have a Degree in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University and I am working on completing a degree in Communication at IWU. I am currently a Training Facilitator currently for Connections to Success, Dress for Success and I teach recently released felons, as well as men and women who are unemployed, or underemployed. I have a heart for people and it shows it all that I do.
I am a game changer and my passion and desire is for others to see the face and hear the story of a survivor, an overcomer. I am a walking billboard of hope.
