Eric Hunter is no stranger to struggle and hardship. To believe, with so little to believe in, was the story of his life. Through it all, the decision that changed the course of his life is the first chapter in a success story of a young man who is reaching out to our youth with real life experiences. One of his favorite quotes is, "There is no failure, except in no longer trying." Over the past 6 years, Eric has spoken at several schools and detention centers. Some of these locations are as follows: Anthony Correctional Center, Gaston Correctional Center, Gardner-Webb University, Gaston College, Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hunter Huss High School, Bessemer City Middle/High School, Sherwood Elementary School and Lingerfeldt Elementary School . . . to name a few.
In 2006, Eric was a guest speaker at the Gaston County Weed & Seed Program. This program was designed to introduce at-risk youth to successful individuals and allow them an opportunity to be mentored. In 2006, he also recieved a Mentor Appreciation Award from GTE/PT "The Power of One" - Saving a Life, Building a Community, Making a Difference.
