Mono & Mood
Overview
Not a DJ. A listening room. Mono & Mood brings a Japanese jazz kissa-style listening experience to cocktail parties, corporate events, weddings, and private gatherings in Boston and Southern Rhode Island. High-end turntable, tube amplifier, and speakers on stands, playing complete sides of 1950s/60s mono jazz pressings — Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Stan Getz — curated in advance for your room. Host Jeff Nedeau is a jazz drummer and historian, WSET Level 3 in wine and TIPS certified, with 20 years in hospitality as co-owner of Farfalle Italian Market in Concord. Wine and bartending available as a premium add-on. I bring everything — just a wall outlet needed.

What to expect
To be impressed with the appearance, professionalism, sense of humor, and skill at curating mood-setting jazz — and a setup of equipment that is special, not a random collection of junk. High-end turntable, tube amplifier, and bookshelf speakers on stands.
Music is curated beforehand for your event — Latin-inspired jazz (Stan Getz, Cal Tjader, George Shearing), West Coast cool (Dave Brubeck, Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker), and the cool canon (Miles Davis, Bill Evans). Jazz kissa style: I play half and sometimes whole sides of records, so there are no requests during the event — the arc of the evening is planned, like a menu.
Full service: I provide everything and just need a wall outlet and a good space for sound, roughly 15-20 feet. You are paying for a professional setup and curation — I will not be asking for tables and extension cords.
About
Jeff Nedeau — Boston and Southern Rhode Island.
Experienced hospitality professional with 20 years in the food and wine industry as co-owner of Farfalle Italian Market in Concord, Massachusetts, where we've done countless events with wine, food, jazz, and cocktails over 20 years.
I'm a jazz drummer, jazz aficionado, and historian, and a WSET Level 3 certified sommelier. Mono & Mood is the combination of everything I do: great records, played properly, in a room that deserves them — with the wine and hospitality to match.
I'm also the host of Mono & Mood, a jazz interview podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube (@monoandmood), where musicians and jazz lovers tell the story of how jazz shaped their lives. Follow the listening room on Instagram @monomood2026.
