Overview
Hello! My name is Elena and I also go by the artist moniker of "Mismonsta". I truly answer to both :)
I am an illustrator who loves capturing fun caricatures of people, cute pets, and birds. Do you have a bird? I want to draw them!
My main mediums include watercolor, ink, and marker. I also create novel TINY watercolor caricatures (artist trading card size which is 2.5"x3.75" in size) and those are always a hit. Have a cute drawing done quickly, in color, and easy to transport! So much to love!
I look forward to meeting and working with you! Let me know any and all of your questions, I'm so happy to assist!
Have the most beautiful day!

September 21, 2026Mismonsta Made Our Block Party Wonderfully Whimsical
Having Elena at our block party was truly the most magical experience. She captured everyone so whimsically, bringing out each person’s personality in the most fun and charming way. She always had a line of excited neighbors waiting their turn, and everyone was thrilled to have such a unique keepsake to take home.
Her caricatures brought so much laughter and joy to the partyand people are still talking about them! Elena is incredibly talented, warm, and an absolute delight. She didn’t just draw caricatures; she created little memories that our neighborhood will treasure. Highly recommend!

An absolute delight working with Marina and all of the people that came to sit for me to have a drawing done. Beautiful facility, very comfy chairs, and the ponies outside were too precious. Thank you!

About
Hi I'm Elena! My friends really do call me “Mismonsta” (or “Monsta”) since it's been a nickname of mine for almost 20 years now.
I moved from my hometown of sunny San Diego to Portland, OR in 2011 to obtain my BFA in Crafts and then STAYED. Portland is too cute. Don't get me wrong, I love both cities.
When it’s time to sit and create, my favorites are always watercolor and ink. Forever and always. When my schedule allows me to spend time at the easel I love to use acrylics in my work, though I’m usually on the go with pocket watercolors on hand. And we cannot exclude the substantial library of drawings I've created in Procreate on my iPad. The combination of skills has really helped me strengthen as an artist.
My preferred subject matters are really across the board. I love everything from people and animal portraits to various fandoms, and if I can sneak some bones or spooky things in there, I’m having the absolute BEST time. And mermaids. All the mermaids. I grew up by the ocean and that has never left me.
Fun fact: If you have my business card, "Wigglies" (at the base of the card) is a not to the fact that I am also a professional bellydancer and cabaret performer and producer. 😁💃🏾
