Mina Hartong Funny Lady

Mina (she,her) taught Theater in public schools for 20 years, so now she can basically do anything!
Her comedy and education career has taken her to stages across the world; cruise ships, resorts, comedy club basements, New York City’s Public Schools, rural East Africa, and Theater Programs for the Incarcerated. All of these experiences make Mina incredibly adaptable to all situations. She immediately reads the room and models leadership, humor, and emotional intelligence. She is also a producer; so she is organized, professional and self sufficient- no divas here. Mina's superpower is her relatability- she is the girl next door who dares to say what is on everyone’s mind, and she says it with humor, grace and empathy.

If an audience came to see Mina, they would see a 45-60 minute flawless comedy set that has been honed over two decades of work in professional Stand Up Comedy. Mina is a theatrical comedian- she uses her acting training to connect with her audience. She writes, directs and performs all of her original material based on her personal experiences. She plays characters, does song parodies, and ends every show with her signature hilarious dance moves. She believes that comedy equals pain plus time, and it can help us heal. She is also a proud member of Alanon for over 30 years.

In her classes and workshops, Mina takes her students ( beginners and professionals) through a process of choosing a personal story from their lives and expanding it to find the humor and humanity to bring the group together like a boot camp of summer camp when you were a kid. She works with all ages and populations. For corporate retreats, improv games and strategies like Yes, and! are a big part of the experience, as well as sharing personal stories to build stronger, more relatable teams.

Mina has been asked by many fans to perform their wedding ceremony. She can also help spruce up the toasts for a member of the wedding party or the keynote speech for a Gala or Fundraiser. She will come early and stay late on the dance floor and schoomze with your big donors or your difficult wedding guests. Mina is the Miss Personality of any Gathering!

Award winning comedian and International Headliner Mina Hartong (Joe’s Pub, New York Comedy Festival,Olivia Travel) has performed on four continents. Her comedy career started in Amsterdam in the 1990's. She went to an open mike, didn't know it was a contest, and she won!
She is available to headline, host, or teach comedy at your next event or all three! Fun fact: she is also an ordained minster and can bring the fun to the wedding ceremony. When she is not on stage, Mina enjoys teaching Stand up Comedy, developing new comics, and facilitating comedy and improv workshops for professional development. Mina is also a renowned Gala and Fundraiser host and has appeared alongside Dick Cavett, Mary Louise Parker, and Kevin Kline at Cipriani’s in New York City. She holds a Masters in Arts Education from Harvard University and consults with the Arthur Miller Foundation and the New York City Department of Education.

A small empty stage, tall bar stool or small table for props, small colorful rug, microphone ( cordless is always great), mike stand ( vertical, not for music), excellent sound and light board, board ops for sound and lights ( can be one person) ability to run MP3 tracks for karaoke songs

For Mina's comedy classes
Mina's classes often take place at libraries, classrooms, breakout and conference rooms. She can also host a webinar or Zoom class. The live classroom should have limited furniture so we can create a playing space as well as a writer's table with chairs. A moveable white board with markers or a smart board ( not required)
