Michele MiMi Bowman is a native of the great musical city of Baltimore. As a vocalist, she blends Baltimore’s history of jazz, the cadence and style developed through singing in the church, Classical training and the smooth flow of Afro-Cuban sounds and Neo Soul. Her musical influences include Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, Donnie Hathaway and Barbara Streisand. Michele’s creativity and adventurous spirit has afforded her the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Jeffrey Osborne, Marvin Hamlisch, Maysa, Take6, Yolanda Adams and others.
Michele’s musical studies at Morgan State University and the Baltimore School for the Arts, her personal relationship with the Lord, and her unbound creativity make her the perfect combination of head, heart, and voice. Michele has filled grand venues, such as Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and The Reginald F. Lewis Museum with her enchanting sound and magnetic presence while maintaining her ability to connect with her audience in the most intimate of spaces. Michele is a truly remarkable performer for all occasions and settings. Her artistic honors and recognition include the Pentagon and the White House where she performed for the presidential inauguration of Ronald Reagan and for the 82nd U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
