About
Bio (2025)
By the age of twelve, Michael Coleman Grondin was already writing songs on his first guitar and performing at
school and church concerts. Formal classical training in Sherbrooke, Québec gave him a deep grounding in music
theory and vocal technique, but a late-night TV performance by Eric Clapton changed everything—Michael dove
headfirst into the blues and never looked back.
Montreal jam sessions became his real classroom, where he honed his fearless improvisation and stage presence
alongside seasoned players like Stephen Barry. A hand injury nearly ended his career, but the setback only
sharpened his resolve. After recovery, he moved to Austin, Texas, performing dynamic solo and trio shows in the
heart of the live music scene, recording demos, and building a devoted following.
Michael’s soulful voice and expressive finger-style guitar reflect decades of immersion in rhythm & blues, classic
soul, and contemporary blues. Today he delivers dynamic solo shows that blend rhythm, lead, and vocals into a
sound that is timeless, melodic, and unmistakably his own.
Additional booking notes
I provide sound for a small to medium size room. I don’t require much floor space but 10 x 10 would be idea . I like to move around while performing .I can adapt to most situations and rooms.
