What to expect

If an audience came to see me…
They’d experience a speaker who holds space with both power and tenderness. My talks are heart-centered, intellectually grounded, and culturally expansive. Whether I’m speaking on psychedelic-assisted therapy, racial and intergenerational trauma, or the intersections of identity and healing, audiences leave with more than just knowledge—they leave with a felt sense of possibility, clarity, and connection. I weave storytelling, clinical expertise, and ancestral wisdom into every engagement, inviting people into brave conversations that spark transformation.

If a client hired me…
They’d receive more than consultation—they’d gain a collaborator in equity and healing. I bring a strategic and trauma-informed approach to every project, tailored to meet the unique needs of your team, organization, or community. My services include equity-infused training, curriculum development, psychedelic program advising, and culturally responsive clinical supervision. Whether you’re developing a psychedelic trial protocol, building out a healing justice initiative, or seeking guidance as a clinician—my work is grounded in partnership, accountability, and care.

About

Candace Oglesby-Adepoju, LCPC (she/her)
Licensed Psychotherapist | Mental Health Equity Consultant | Psychedelic Therapy Educator

Candace Oglesby-Adepoju is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), board-approved supervisor, and nationally recognized mental health equity consultant with over a decade of experience in trauma-informed care. With a master’s degree in clinical psychology and advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), she specializes in trauma healing for adult populations—particularly Black women and women of color.

Candace is the founder of Jurnee Mental Health Consulting, a firm dedicated to advancing mental health equity through culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices. Her consulting work spans training, curriculum development, content creation, mentorship, and organizational advising. She is also a certified psychedelic-assisted therapist and has served as a trainer, advisor, and senior therapist on multiple psychedelic clinical trials. Her work centers on expanding access to psychedelic care through a lens of cultural humility and community accountability.

A sought-after speaker and educator, Candace has delivered talks and workshops at institutions across the country—including Harvard University and Howard University—where she shares insights on equitable and accessible psychedelic-assisted therapy, trauma healing, and liberatory mental health practices.

She is also the visionary behind two groundbreaking offerings:

Liberation through Plants and Plates, a quarterly dinner and education series for Black and Brown therapists exploring innovative mental health modalities like psychedelics in community.

Afro-Psych, a therapeutic card deck integrating Afrocentric wisdom into psychedelic and mental health work.

In her wildest dreams, Candace imagines a future where incarcerated elders are given access to psychedelic-assisted healing—so they, too, can know peace, connection, and liberation before they leave this earth.

Outside of her work, Candace finds joy in rest, love, and community with her husband, dog, family, and friends.

Performance & Service Requirements

To create a smooth, engaging, and grounded experience, please consider the following preferences and technical needs:

Audio: I prefer to use a lavaliere microphone to support ease of movement and natural engagement with the audience. Please ensure one is available and tested prior to the presentation.

Visuals: If slides or multimedia are part of the presentation, having a technical support person available to assist with setup and transitions is ideal.

Lighting: Consistent, soft house lighting is sufficient. Please avoid harsh spotlights or frequent lighting changes during the talk.

Staging: A stool or chair on stage is appreciated, as I may choose to alternate between standing and sitting while speaking.

Accessibility Note: As a neuroexpansive presenter, technical support and a calm setup environment help me deliver at my best. Collaboration and clear communication beforehand are deeply appreciated.

Q&A Format: I request that audience questions be held until the end of the talk to support narrative flow and emotional pacing.

If your event has unique logistical or tech considerations, I’m happy to discuss accommodations in advance to ensure a successful and inclusive experience.
