Melissa Maimone has been speaking to women of all ages & backgrounds for over 10 years. In addition to speaking at retreats, women's gatherings and special events, she has appeared on TBN television and on KKLA Christian radio. She served as the Director of Women's Ministries at a large church in Santa Clarita before transitioning to full time speaking. Melissa communicates with encouragement, humor, & transparency interlaced with powerful Biblical messages. She often shares from her own struggles with depression and anxiety to give hope to those who need it most. From a keynote address or one day event to multiple retreat sessions, she offers a wide variety of topics for any women's event.
Melissa spoke at our Ladies Tea and gave a heart-felt, authentic message about living in God's abundance. She used humor to connect us to her relatable testimony and message. God has definitely given her a gift to speak into the lives of women in a very compassionate and raw way. She is Biblically based and used scripture well. I especially loved that she "hung out" with us and wanted to connect to our community. Melissa is super easy to work with and very responsive with communication.
Response from Melissa Maimone:

We LOVED having Melissa for our Christmas Gala Speaker! She was genuine, transparent, and funny - weaving it all together into a relevant and impactful message of hope and unconditional love.
Her passion for God, and her desire for others to know Him was evident both on and off the stage She was gracious and such a blessing to our ladies, as she listen and engaged with them before and after the event each night.
She is a precious and amazing speaker !
Melissa spoke @ our Women's Luncheon and was warmly received. Our evaluation forms which the ladies completed after the event gave Melissa a RAVING A+ and desire to have her return to speak again. She related to all ages and spoke with clear message from her heart and Gods Word.

What to Expect
Melissa speaks on a variety of topics and every one is based in these
She only speaks on topics she studies, believes, experiences, and lives out with God's grace.
All of her messages derive from a true desire for authenticity, depth, humor, and encouragement. Every presentation contains solid, studied Biblical truths, practical illustrations, and parts of her own story.
She is a Christian speaker and author who communicates transcendant topics from a fresh perspective that allows your group to experience a deeper understanding of God, themselves, and one another.
A Note from Melissa:
As your event speaker my goal is to serve you, your audience, and your event. It's not about me. I realize you have a lot to consider and I take that seriously. I've planned hundreds of events and I know what it is like to go through the process of looking for the right speaker. No matter how informative a website is, let's face it, we don't really know how it will all come together until the speaker shows up and starts speaking!
Here are a few things you can count on when I am your speaker:
A true desire to serve you. I will answer your calls and e-mails promptly and make myself available to you as needed. I will accommodate special requests to the best of my ability, and can tailor my message to suit the needs of your individual group.
A commitment to bring my best. I will work diligently, pray regularly, and communicate consistently to prepare to speak at your event.
A listing on my website and various Facebook postings announcing your event.
An availability to your attendees to talk, pray, and stay otherwise engaged. I have no desire to run off to a "green room" and request peeled M&M's between my talks. We are all in this together and I love spending time with those whom I am speaking to and with.
Melissa Maimone teaches women that an authentic life in Christ can be messy and magnificent at the exact same time. With her unique blend of theology, humor, and insight, Melissa provides down-to-earth lessons, practical applications, and life-changing perspectives to real women who are living real lives in the midst of real problems.
Using Scripture, art, story-telling, and lessons from her own battle with depression, Melissa demonstrates that the light of JOY can be found even in dark places. She is both a teacher and friend to her audiences; creating a dynamic atmosphere of learning, inspiration, and shared experiences. She encourages women that they can live a bold, messy, magnificent life of vulnerability and victory because they are known, accepted, and deeply loved by God--just as they are. Women leave their time with Melissa equipped with biblical, realistic, and transferrable tools to live a life of JOY, no matter what they face in life.
Melissa is the author of "The Radiant Midnight: Depression, Grace, and the Gifts of a Dark Place" and “Gathering Dandelions: Meditations and Musings on Faith, Fracture, and Beauty Mistaken for a Weed”
Melissa has been a featured speaker at various Christian camps, women's events and retreats throughout the United States.
She is also part of the speaking team for Compassion International, an international organization dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
Before she transitioned into full-time speaking and writing, she worked in ministry at a large church in Santa Clarita, CA for 15 years. Melissa has appeared on TBN and KKLA Christian Radio, and has been published in Welcome Home magazine.
She and her husband Danny live outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. They have two children. She loves Jesus, her family, and her friends. Her hobbies include reading, walking, watching weird documentaries, and eating tacos.
Additional Booking Notes
I prefer a lavelier or "over the ear" mic so I am free to use my hands and to move around to better engage my audience. If video and/or slide features are provided at the venue, I will use them, but they are not necessary for my messages.

Influences & Inspiration
I work with nationally known author and dramatist Nicole Johnson, who toured with Women of Faith for over 15 years. She has been a tremendous influence on me and mentor to me. Under her care, I have grown professionally and personally.
I am part of Seasons Weekend, a three day retreat featuring speakers & authors Jay & Katherine Wolf of Hope Heals, Terry Glaspey, Dr. Curt Thompson, and Nicole Johnson. This team of spiritual thinkers, artists, and Jesus-followers have impacted my life deeply. I am grateful to know them and call them friends.
I have been mentored by theologians and pastors throughout the years, and have strong ties to my local church where I serve, learn, and grow.
I am an avid reader. Some of my favorite authors are Brennan Manning, Dallas Willard, Anne Voskamp, and Henri Nouwen. I've been influenced by the writings Augustine, St. Patrick, St. Teresa of Avila, and St. John of the Cross.
I'd love a music stand for my notes. Thanks!
