I had a great experience booking Max Mendoza for our party. I book a lot of people for work so I'm always pleased when I have a smooth booking experience. Max Mendoza was not only easy to initially get in touch with, but he was also professional in his communication throughout the process. As for the quality of music - top notch. He arrived early with all the gear and set up on his own. All the guests enjoyed the music. He was able to "read the room" and see what people were feeling to keep the energy going. Beautiful renditions of pop and oldies music. If you are looking for someone to add warmth to your event, go with Max Mendoza - the music is pretty, not boring. Double points for the fact that he looked like he was enjoying it too!

I have dedicated my life to studying and performing music, with a passion for blending diverse styles like popular songs, Latin, flamenco, jazz, classical, and folk. Infusing these genres with the timeless tradition of acoustic guitar, I bring a versatile and elegant touch to every performance.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance from California State University Fullerton (2009) and a Master of Fine Arts in Multi-Focus Guitar from the California Institute of the Arts (2011). My musical journey has taken me around the world, including studying flamenco guitar in Spain, performing in pop bands, and playing alongside talented musicians in classical guitar trios and Latin ensembles.
As a solo guitarist, I specialize in creating sophisticated atmospheres for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and more. My repertoire spans classical masterpieces, contemporary hits, and Latin-inspired melodies, all tailored to enhance the mood and theme of your special occasion.
Additional booking notes
I am a very self-reliant guitarist and require minimal assistance. My setup is quick and easy, typically taking about 30 minutes. I provide my own professional PA system, ensuring that my sound is clear and balanced for all guests, and the system can even be battery-powered, making electricity optional. I can also bring my own chair and do not require additional lighting, staging, or sound reinforcement. I work seamlessly with DJs, sound engineers, wedding and event planners, and my gear is simple and user-friendly for everyone. This makes me highly adaptable to various event spaces, both indoors and outdoors, offering a smooth, stress-free experience for any event.

Influences and inspiration
My biggest influences come from my guitar teachers. Miroslav Tadić taught me to blend Macedonian music with flamenco and classical guitar, which shapes much of my sound. David Grimes guided my classical guitar technique and expression, while Larry Koonse refined my jazz guitar skills. John Brown inspired me to explore popular songs and choose the right repertoire for each event. I also admire guitarists like Paco de Lucía, Andrés Segovia, Kenny Burrell, and Carlos Santana, and I blend these styles into a unique sound that’s rooted in classical, flamenco, jazz, and popular music.
