I'm an acoustic jazz guitarist with experience in the field of performing standards. I've played many genres including swing, gypsy swing, bossa nova, samba, bop and flamenco. I can mold my playing to fit any genre necessary, and I will always acknowledge that the bandleader is the one in charge.

What to Expect
I have experience playing the following styles of jazz: swing, gypsy swing, bossa nova, samba, latin, funk, smooth, fusion. I can handle myself in a situation of pure improvisation, and I can also do whatever the bandleader wants me to do. I'm able to read a part or play along to a line. I don't know every standard, but I'm willing to work with others that do! I won't challenge any of the bandleader's demands, but I will give constructive comments if I'm allowed to. After all, we do this to make the best music we can!
I'm 18 years old. I was born in Venezuela. I've been playing jazz guitar for about 2 and a half years. I studied for 3 years with the acclaimed guitarist Franco Nasi, who coached me through my learning of jazz harmony and theory. In January of 2015, I came to USA to study Music in Adelphi University. During my first semester I caught the attention of the Jazz Ensemble director Dave Lobenstein, I hope for better. I've studied with Steve Salerno in order to refine my playing skills during my first semester here at Adelphi. I'll be living in Alpharetta, GA from May 21st to July 17th (I'm visiting my family), so I hope we can get together to play some good music before I leave!
Additional Booking Notes
If parts are given out, I require a music stand in order to have my music ready to go. I require an amp; nothing fancy, just a clean channel, perhaps some reverb and the necessary volume. I do not have any effect pedals. If there's a setlist, I would appreciate if I could have a copy of it in advance. If there's a dress code, let me know. I would highly appreciate if the bandleader could answer as many of the common questions when contacting me, so we can all be clear. I can handle a difficult situation, but a well set-up gig is always the best choice.
I know my fare of jazz standards, but I would always appreciate if I can have a setlist of possible tunes so I can make sure to learn them prior to the gig. As far as my favorite tunes, a short list would have to include: Stella by starlight, Someday my prince will come, 'Round midnight, Four, This masquerade, They can't take that away from me, Body and soul...anyway, there are so many good tunes!
