About
Matt Grady is percussionist with the Boise Philharmonic and timpanist with Opera Idaho. Matt has performed with the Yakima Symphony, Boise Phil Chamber Players, Boise Baroque, the 208 Ensemble, and the McCall Music Festival.
Prior to Boise, Matt was based in Seattle, where he performed with the Seattle Symphony, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra in Honolulu. He also appeared with the Harry Partch Ensemble at the University of Washington, the Paramount Theatre, and on several movie and television soundtracks with Seattle Music, Inc.
Matt earned his MM at Temple University, where he studied with Philadelphia Orchestra percussionists Alan Abel and Chris Deviney. He continued his studies in Seattle with Seattle Symphony members Mike Werner and Mike Crusoe, along with Bill Wanser of the Phoenix Symphony.
He is the owner of Idaho Percussion Services, which provides percussion rentals, drum lessons, and musician referrals in Boise and the Northwest.
