We were extraordinarily lucky to have Mat and his gifted ensemble open our wedding celebration. To give some context, our wedding was hosted in a beautiful, authentic Art Deco cabaret, and we invited our guests to embrace a Great Gatsby vibe. Mat’s timeless setlist was absolute perfection, completely setting the mood and welcoming our guests with the most authentic, raw jazz repertoire.

Mat went above and beyond by gracefully arranging a custom adaptation of a Venezuelan folk song to kick off the ceremony—an unforgettable, deeply personal detail that touched everyone in the room.

In addition to entertaining everyone beautifully during the cocktail hour, he invited the extraordinary Isabella Halil to join the ensemble. Her stunning voice amused and delighted the audience during the reception dinner with a gorgeous mix of Bossa Nova, jazz, and iconic blues songs. Cherry on top, Mat and Isabella performed our first quirky dance song. We know Nina Simone felt honored by their performed but not by our dance.

Mat, Isabella, and the entire ensemble completely overachieved our goal of transporting our guests to a different era, turning our wedding into a deeply joyful immersive experience. The buzz hasn't stopped; our guests are still talking about how incredibly special they felt that night, feeling as though they had truly stepped back into 1930.

We will be forever grateful to have met Mat and experienced his incredible talent. If you are looking to surprise your guests with world-class musicianship, stop looking—Mat will deliver.
