I typically do "self working" magic in my shows/gigs-I am not too into sleight of hand though I can do a bit when necessary to pull off an effect. I've been told that I am far more comical than magical, however I've also had folks watch an effect and walk away or follow me around wondering "How did he do that?". You'll be amused, befuttled, and above all else entertained by my performance/act.
My act includes but is not limited to magic with coins/money, cards, silks, rope, and other "props" as necessary for effect(s). Magic is as much about personality as it is about the effects presented and I've got personality to burn (or so I've been told). The act is ever evolving as I continue my growth in life and as a performer. I am not a trick master meaning that I am a performer first and a magician second. All to often I hear from folks that they hired a magician who while amazing in his tricks/effects didn't amuse in terms of overall performance rest assured that by hiring me you won't have that problem/issue...I guarantee you'll be ENTERTAINED and your party/event will be more FUN-AMUSING instead of stuffy and boring...In the end its PERFORMER vs trick, trick, trick...think about it next time you need a magician and hire one who's at the same time a PERFORMER and magician--ME, MARTYG!
I really don't need much for staging as I prefer to do strolling/walk around-table hopping magic. I can do some stage/parlor but only require about 10 minutes setup time.

My set(s) consist of typically 3 effects per group though I always have 12-15 with me and dependant upon time and # of folks/tables that need coverage I rotate some in and some out. It's particularly important to have extra in case someone actually follows from group to group or table to table which has happened to me as they really wanted to "figure" out how I did a particular effect.
I don't emulate anyone in particular though I as my bio states I've seen many "great" magicians including: Doug Henning, David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, Lance Burton, etc. Those are the big guys who do stage performances...I've also seen many, many close up performers and a few have been kind enough to me in terms of sharing/teaching you probably won't know of any of them so they're being thanked here though not specifically named.
I carry my own eqpt including PA if necessary.
