Mark Twain Reflects
Overview
Storyteller Charles Kiernan, now retired from gainful employment, has of late been fobbing himself off as Mark Twain. Twain is wont to ramble on about his boyhood memories, the newspaper publishing business, life on the Mississippi and frogs. Mostly, though, he likes to talk about the river.
The intent of the show is to give the audience a bit of Twain's biography, his humor and his viewpoint. To illustrate his views at various points during his life, he feels compelled to give the audience some of his personal history (he being his favorite topic). His conclusions are what you might expect if you know something about Twain. It's the journey to that conclusion that is the fun.

October 9, 2017Mark Twain Returns to Norristown
Mark was authentic looking and played the part seemingly well, but he didn't mingle with the guests nearly as much as I would have liked.

August 7, 2015Stories on the river come to life!
Mark Twain and his stories come to life. Charles is a gifted storyteller! Not only does he have a warm and wonderful persona, he is witty and well educated. If your venue is along a river, consider him for educational entertainment.

Mark Twain Reflects
Now telling by a river would be fun.
Booking information
Price range: $400 - $500
Gig length: 45 - 45 minutes
What to expect
I perform in costume (white suit with cigar, but I won't smoke it,) and in persona. At the end of the program, if appropriate, I am happy to do a Q&A as myself, fielding questions about Twain and storytelling.
About
Storyteller Charles Kiernan performs at theatres, listening clubs, schools, libraries, and arts festivals. He is also coordinator for the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild, Pennsylvania State Representative for the National Youth Storytelling Showcase and Pennsylvania State Liaison for the National Storytelling Network.
Additional booking notes
I need one armless chair (even a folding will do.) Amplification where necessary. I do not need a podium, stage or spot lights. The closer I am to the audience-the more intimate-the better.
