The Mark Richard Trio consists of Mark Richard on keyboard, guitar & vocals, Paul Collins on stand up or electric bass, & Alex Muchnik on drums. Other instrumentalist can be added as desired.
Mark is not only the consummate musician, (his only legally marketable skill) but is also a great entertainer. These three perform classic lyrical jazz, but additionally are very capable of dusting off great old Motown, funk, early rock, and even a smattering of country sounds or Christmas tunes
Whatever the client asks of us, we will rise to the occasion. Holiday celebrations, private birthday, anniversary, or retirement parties, corporate gatherings, weddings, etc. nothing is beyond our purview.
Mark and his band are really top notch performers. Friendly and professional leading up to the event, early to arrive and get set up. From beginning to end they perfectly matched the music to the schedule/atmosphere. Mark took a list of family and couple favorites, which spanned a range the whole audience was impressed with!
All night we had endless compliments, and guests even enjoyed chatting! You know a band is solid when songs will get a mother and son out of their seats to sing together right at the table! Beautiful vocals as well, saw a few eyes tear up from the singing.
All around, incredible musicians. I've been passing out their contact info to everyone I know ever since. Will hire them back in a heartbeat for any event I can!
Response from Mark Richard Trio or Quintet:
Your Wedding was absolutely wonderful. It was in a beautiful venue, well planned and well executed. Everyone, from the guests to the staff seemed to enjoy the celebration. Thank you for having us.
In february we had to book a musician for Mardi Gras on fairly short notice and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and professionalism of the Mark Richards Duo we booked. It was a relief after having such high standards from our previous regular jazz group. We decided to bring in the Trio for our July event celebrating Independence Day and were very happy we did! Residents, guests and staff all had great things to say about the quality of the music, response to requests and playing at the right volume. We will definitely be contacting them again!
Mark and his band offer an outstanding level of musical expertise. Combine their talent with the sincerity and passion they have for sharing their music and you really cannot ask for more in a band. You name it, they can play it. As a native Brazilian, it was a thrill to have the band slip right into several Bossa Nova songs at my request.
My husband and I hired Mark for my birthday party. During the course of the week leading up to the party, there was a need to change venues due to the weather and we scrambled to find a new indoor location. Mark was so flexible, sweet, and professional every step of the way. He was also willing to do whatever was necessary to work with the strict rules of the venues.
In the end, we made the last minute decision to have the party at our home and Mark graciously adapted to the circumstances.
Mark and his band did more than simply show up and play a gig. They truly became an organic part of the party. We got to know every band member, each of them with a rich history, sweetness, and passion for their music and life. They connected with everyone through their music and their contagious joy.
Our guests are still commenting about how magical the night was and I can honestly say that it was mostly thanks to the band.
I could not imagine a better band to elevate the ambiance to the heights of musical sophistication and soulful joy.
I have hired the Mark Richard trio many, many times over the years for our bbq's/ private parties. Excellent musicians! I would hire them again anytime and have referred them often to friends.
Perfect Choice for a trio for our event. We used this Trio for a Holiday Tree Lighting and they perfectly set the mood and atmosphere of the event. They are very fun, professional, great musicians and wonderful music to boot! We will use them again for sure!
Whether playing the keyboards, guitar, bass or ACCORDIAN this man is a musicians musician. I have enjoyed Marks talents all they way back to when he played at The Cattlemans Restaurant in Sunnyvale. Where he played for over 25 years. If you want your party to be over the top and an unforgettable event then I would hire him in a heartbeat! I LOVE YOU MAN! Oh ya and the other guys are good too!
