What to expect

Mad Painter, based in Boston, MA. area, is deeply rooted in the melodic rock tradition of the 1970s. They play mostly original music, ranging from Woodstock-era psychedelic rock to glam-tinged rock 'n' roll a-la Mott the Hoople and the Faces, to epic heavy anthems in the vein of Uriah Heep.

Mad Painter is Alex Gitlin, the songwriter and creator of the band’s concept. He is backed by drummer Al Hendry (Bubba Loaf, Tokyo Tramps), bassist Kenne Highland (ex-Gizmos, Hopelessly Obscure, Johnny & The Jumper Cables, Africa Corps.) and guitarist Al Naha (The Thigh Scrapers), who plays with Kenne in Kenne Highland Airforce. The newest members are two backing vocalists, Sharon Crumrine and Julie Gee.

With the release of the latest album, 'Splashed', the group has garnered enthusiastic and positive feedback from critics and journalists, as well as worldwide radio airplay. The followup to 'Splashed', 'Island Poetry', is currently in the mixing stage. And the first single and video off 'Island Poetry', called 'Empty Bottles', is out; check out YouTube and a streaming platform of your choice.

It's always a good time when you come to a Mad Painter show, and you know what to expect - nostalgic 70s rock vibes and stage gear to match, great musicianship and songs that will make you get up, dance, sing and clap along. It’s a party you definitely want to be at!

Mad Painter is currently in the studio recording new music, coming your way soon.
