Jamie Ratcliffe has a rich, deep, flexible, and luxurious mezzo-soprano voice. She is able to sing many styles of music including wedding, funeral and graveside traditional solos such as ave maria, o danny boy, and amazing grace; opera, classical, oratorio, and Neapolitan songs; and musical theater . Jamie has over 20 years of performing experience including recitals, soloist with orchestra, small ensembles, off-broadway productions, church services, and has studied and performed over 30 opera roles. Jamie has an elegant performing presence and is pleasant to work with. She can deliver an effortless beautiful performance of music from J.S. Bach through Cole Porter and beyond.

Luxurious Mezzo-Soprano sang both Italian and American anthems at our event and was fabulous. Her voice was beautiful. She showed up on time and was very pleasant. I received many compliments with her performance. I HIGHLY recommend!!

About
Jamie Ratcliffe, Mezzo-Soprano, is currently voice faculty at Quinnipiac University. Upcoming engagements include singing as the alto soloist in Bach’s Cantata 79, “Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild,” with Baroque period instrument orchestra at First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, CT in October, 2025. Ms Ratcliffe was recently the featured soloist for the American and Irish national anthems at the Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Greenwich, CT. She also appeared as Amneris in Verdi’s AIDA in January, 2024, which she performed with New York Opera Forum.
In 2023, Ms. Ratcliffe appeared as an Emerging Professional Artist in the Vienna Summer Music Festival in Vienna, Austria, singing First Lady in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, and covering the title role in SUOR ANGELICA. Ms. Ratcliffe was a finalist in the Vienna Summer Music Festival Competition, and received a scholarship to attend the festival.
Additional recent engagements include the title role in LA GIOCONDA, Elisabetta in DON CARLO, The Marschallin in DER ROSENKAVALIER, the title role in NORMA, Countess Almaviva in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, and Giulietta and Stella in LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN, all performed with New York Opera Forum. Recent concert and oratorio engagements for Jamie Ratcliffe include performances of Handel’s MESSIAH, Holst’s CHRISTMAS DAY, Mozart’s CORONATION MASS and REGINA COELI, Vivaldi’s GLORIA, and Brahms’ GEISTLICHES WIEGENLIED.
Ms. Ratcliffe was an alternate in the American Opera Idol competition in 2020 through Opera Connecticut. In 2019, She presented a full-length solo recital at Opera America in Marc A. Scorca Hall, titled “Love and Music.”
Jamie Ratcliffe earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Syracuse University, magna cum laude, with a minor in music history, and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from University of Oregon, focusing her studies in choral-orchestral music. Ms. Ratcliffe was also a conductor and music director, conducting in several off-Broadway productions. She was honored to have the opportunity to study directly under Helmut Rilling, and conduct public performances, through the Oregon Bach Festival. Additionally, she attended the Conductor’s Institute of South Carolina where she studied with composer Libby Larsen in a conducting workshop, working directly with Ms. Larsen on preparation and rehearsal for Ms. Larsen’s own composition, String Symphony.
