Luis Alicea

Luis Alicea, known as The Golden Boy of the drums, earned this title with his meticulous hand crafted precision of playing drums in recording environments as well as live performances. As a professional drummer, percussionist and producer he continues to influence the drum world by bringing excellence and raising the standards of musicianship.

From 1985 Luis Alicea has been chopping away. Influenced by The Gospel and a musically enriched family, his soul was infused with the blessing of music. In 1993 as a freshman The Golden Boy in the making, joined the local high school band, taking on new challenges and adapting to different genres of music. With this experience and new disciplined methods he was able to develop a career in the artistic world of music. Even though he was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, he embarked on a new journey that would soon prove promising and prosperous. Making this decision was not easy, he had to separate himself from the close loving family and friends he had, but the move paid off!! Right from the beginning The Golden Boy was being sought out and requested by big headliners such as Grammy Award wining artist FANIA ALL STARS Richie Ray and Boby Cruz and many others such as Al Di Meola, Master Percussionist Gumbi Ortiz. When Alicea arrived in Tampa, Florida he partnered up with the Bonafe Musical Production Team where he soon earned, and was baptized with, his well deserved nick name “The Golden Boy”.
