December 9, 2022Autism Awareness and Experiences
Louis presented a lot of information on the signs that could be indicative of autism in children and various strategies that can be helpful in dealing with this disorder. He had a well thought out script and held our group's attention as he gave us factual information on what has become a very common disorder. I wish that we had a longer meeting so that we could have heard more from this speaker.

About
Hi, my name is Louis Scarantino, and I am on the Autism Spectrum. I am an award-winning autism advocate, certified motivational speaker, writer, and the author of two books: Finding Love on the Spectrum: An ASD Guide to Dating and Autism: The Unstoppable Achiever.
I speak at schools, colleges, corporate events, conferences, disability advocacy programs, and community organizations, where I share a powerful, firsthand perspective on autism, inclusion, resilience, and achievement.
My journey has not been an easy one. Growing up as a student with autism, I faced constant social challenges, misunderstandings, and a school system that often failed to recognize my strengths. High school, in particular, was a difficult time, marked by isolation and a lack of proper support from educators who did not fully understand autism.
For many years, autism was something others viewed through frustration rather than empathy. That began to change when I graduated college with a degree in Office Information Technology, earning Cum Laude honors with a 3.6 GPA. That milestone became a turning point — not just academically, but personally.
I realized then that the greatest barrier for people on the spectrum isn’t autism itself — it’s the lack of understanding surrounding it. That realization became the foundation of my work as a speaker and advocate, using my story to educate, inspire, and challenge audiences to see autism through a lens of ability, not limitation.
