Lost Highways

Lost Highways is an energetic and engaging 90's plus cover band. We have a strong focus on not only great musical performance and quality sound production, but we also focus on crowd engagement and interaction. Our philosophy from the beginning has been to strip away the divide between the audience and the band. Every show/event is a party in our eyes, and we aim to have the crowd be a part of the show, not simply observers. We play music that the crowd knows, we do it well, and we do it with our own take on these songs, with love and musical embellishment, while still keeping them recognizable and fun. This is not your standard cover band.

We have a modular approach to the band. We can change out parts and pieces to better suit the event we are hired for. This can range to coming as a duo with an acoustic guitar, percussion setup, and small footprint PA for a more intimate performance with an artsy vibe, that doesn't take up a great deal of room. Or a massive PA and large drumkit, 2 guitarists, and a big outdoor rock concert production, or anything between. We can scale up or down to suit your specific needs.

Musically, we offer primarily 90s and a good bit of 80s as well, but we also can add in some 60s and 70s, and even some 2ks music, ranging from pop, light rock, alternative, funk, hard rock, and even some metal/nu metal. We are happy to keep the music family friendly for all ages shows, corporate events, and festivals, but have an extensive repertoire of well over 100 songs and can appease more rowdy crowds as well at rock shows and house parties.

Lost Highways is a supergroup of Charlotte area professional musicians coming together to form the quintessential 90s plus cover band. Drew Ross and Chris McKinney both hail from a myriad of original and cover bands each. Both played together in Gastonia based original rocker band, The Coming Dawn, and have maintained a close friendship and working relationship since, often working together in sessions and live gigs as hired guns. Working with some of the best session bass players in the Charlotte area, Lost Highways is always ready to entertain!

Lost Highways started in 2017 as an impromptu collaboration for a few house parties. The response was overwhelming, so over time, Chris and Drew built on the band and added members as needed and began playing sporadic shows and house parties. Eventually they recognized that they truly had a fun and unique cover band and decided to start playing more serious shows and book their own cover shows in-between their hired sessions with other bands. Every show has made it clear that this band truly has something special and we wish to share it with the world, one event at a time! Great music, talented musicians, and a fun party atmosphere, where the audience is a part of the show!

We require 2 sources of power at all shows with permanent power installed. This is to help split the load on the power requirements of our gear. This is often split stage left and stage right. For outdoor shows, we require a generator capable of supporting a full band worth of power consumption, if we are providing the PA and sound. As for the band's footprint, we are flexible but we ask that you please book responsibly. If space is limited please indicate dimensions of the band space available prior to booking! For a trio band show, we need space for a full drumkit, bass player, bass cabinet, guitar player, guitar cabinet, mic stands for all three, and stage monitors. We are happy so scale our gear up or down to accommodate your venue, but please communicate in that regard ahead of time. Our aim is to make the best show possible for you!
