Lock Reese Jazz Saxophonist Solo - Trio

Born in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 and previously based in Chicago, Laksar Reese is a Multi-Instrumentalist, Bandleader, composer, arranger & business based out of Los Angeles. He has toured throughout the U.S. leading the LRM Quartet/Quintet and also as a featured member of the Chuchito Valdes Afro-Cuban ensemble. He currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Sydney. He leads his hard-grooving ensemble on the IW Tenor/Soprano/Bass Saxophones and Flute and piano.
He has performed worldwide touring throughout the United States, U.S.A, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, Australia, Mexico, Cuba and the Caribbean. He delights in performing an exciting blend of Latin Jazz, Funky grooves, and straight-ahead, hard-swinging, American-style jazz! He co-leads the Laksar Reese/Dave Smith Quartet that tours across Australia.

Some of his highlighted performances featured with Chuchito Valdes were at the Chicago Jazz Festival, Detroit Jazz Festival, Orchestra Hall Detroit, Chicago Theater, San Jose Jazz Festival, Havana International Jazz Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Telluride Jazz Celebration, and Cancun Jazz Festival. He performs frequently around Los Angeles & California, Colorado, and across Australia. Laksar Reese currently teaches workshops, clinics, and private instruction in both Jazz Improvisation saxophone technique and woodwind doubling. He also founded a company that designs, manufactures, and distributes a complete line of saxophones
