Overview

Are you "mostly" satisfied with life, but still feel something is missing? We all deserve to be happy in our lives.
I help motivate & inspire audiences to determine what they need so they can live the life they want and deserve, & identify actions for them to take.

I've created the Live H.A.P.P.Y. framework to fulfill that mission. The H.A.P.P.Y. framework stands for:
Hope: because one must have hope for something good to happen
Action: because Hope isn’t a strategy
Purpose: because one must define their “why" so they can follow that purpose
Positivity: because the law of attraction is real, & positivity is good for the soul.
Yourself: you must always be Yourself.

What to expect

Your audience will experience more than motivation—they'll leave with practical strategies they can use immediately to strengthen leadership, build resilience, improve accountability, and create a culture where people feel valued and motivated to contribute their best.
As your speaker, I bring professionalism, preparation, and a collaborative approach. I work with you to understand your objectives, tailor examples to your audience, and deliver an engaging, story-driven presentation that supports your event's goals. My aim is simple: provide an experience that's memorable, actionable, and worth talking about long after the conference ends.

About

I help organizations build cultures where people feel valued enough to go above and beyond. When people feel trusted, appreciated, and connected to a shared purpose, they don't just meet expectations—they take ownership, support one another, and help organizations thrive. Through practical leadership strategies and unforgettable stories from my own journey, I show leaders how to create workplaces where people want to contribute, grow, and stay.
My journey began in the classroom as an educator, where I discovered the power of helping others grow. Seeking a new challenge, I set out to hike all 2,160 miles of the Appalachian Trail—an experience that forever shaped my understanding of resilience, perseverance, and purposeful leadership. Inspired by those lessons, I went on to build and lead a successful business for 26 years, proving that the same principles that carry us through life's greatest challenges also build thriving businesses and exceptional teams.

Set list

I have three primary keynote speeches:

1. The Next Step: Lessons in Leadership, Resilience, and Purpose from 2,160 miles on the Appalachian Trail

Drawing from my 2,160-mile Appalachian Trail thru-hike and 26 years in business, I share powerful lessons about resilience, perseverance, and purpose. Through engaging stories and practical strategies, audiences learn how to stop focusing on the entire problem ahead and start making progress one step at a time. This keynote inspires participants to embrace challenges, remain committed during difficult seasons, and move forward with confidence even when the path is uncertain.

2. Leading with Alignment: Strategies that Retain, Motivate, and Empower

Strong cultures don't happen by accident. They are intentionally built by leaders who model values, communicate expectations, and create environments where trust and accountability thrive. Drawing on decades of business leadership and 2,160 miles on the Appalachian Trail, I share practical strategies for building aligned teams that embrace responsibility, increase engagement, and achieve results. Participants leave with actionable tools they can immediately apply to strengthen culture and improve performance.

3. Own your next step: Taking Responsibility When Life, Work, and Leadership Feel Overwhelming

When challenges seem too large, many people become stuck waiting for certainty, motivation, or the perfect plan. In this empowering keynote, April demonstrates how taking ownership of what you can control creates momentum, confidence, and progress. Through personal stories, practical examples, and actionable strategies, audiences discover how responsibility becomes a source of freedom rather than pressure. Participants leave ready to stop waiting and start moving forward.
