Joao Costa is an Orlando-based drummer, percussionist, and music producer trained at Full Sail University. With a background spanning Latin, jazz, worship, and funk/pop styles, Joao brings a rare fluency in Brazilian rhythms — samba, bossa nova, baião — that sets his live performances apart. His work includes recorded drum albums, arranging credits, and session production, and he currently teaches drums at Roots Music in Orlando. Whether backing a live band or performing solo percussion, Joao delivers dynamic, professional performances tailored to the moment.
Full acoustic drum kit and hand percussion (cajon, shakers, tambourine) available depending on the gig. Can perform acoustically for intimate settings or mic’d through the venue’s PA for larger events. Happy to provide a stage plot and input list ahead of time for sound engineers.

Standard drum riser or flat stage space (approx. 8x8 ft) preferred but not required. Needs access for load-in near the performance area and a nearby power outlet. For hand percussion/acoustic sets, minimal setup is needed.
